The team didn't have any buy-in for design activities so i worked on high level wireframes based off the design system and functionality requirements gathered firsts. We made the case for usability testing, conducted a set of them, and showed how they yielded disastrous results. It was at that point our stakeholders came around to a different way of doing things and we were able to conduct user research for the first time on the project.

As the team worked towards the first release, I established and formalized processes and best practices based on some activities that were happening on the project. This included creating a design system and templates for user research and design. It was this bottom up approach coupled with working with leadership that allowed the team to get buy-in for more design work.

Eventually my role shifted from day-to-day design work to working with the leadership to create a user-centered culture on the project.
There were three initiatives the team worked on:
Facilitate alignment across Artboard design to clarify the project’s mission, purpose, and focus
Understand user needs to build the right thing and simplify the process for users to sign up, manage projects and get their desired designs
Increase product delivery quality and speed through better processes and improved methods through out the project
As part of this work, I facilitated interviews with leadership and key stakeholders, documented and proposed process and organizational structure improvements, and continued to mentor and coach individuals on the team.

Artboard design is an architectural design service provider that specializes in the niche of residential/home designs. This web application is built to solve the inaccessibility of architects to the general society, particularly to land owners and real estate developers across Nigeria. This app is built to provide architectural designs digitally and incorporates AI 3D features. The features on this app include: book a call features ,instant quote feature, architectural design feature, help find a builder feature etc. What makes Artboard different from other architectural companies is the ability to provide architectural services digitally and in turn provide project and job opportunities for architects who sign up to this app. The company’s targeted customers are architects, client/land owners and developers in the real estate development sector who are looking out for architectural design services for home/ residential buildings
